I know there are bigger things going on in the world and that this post should probably be about how MJ saved us all from doom, but instead, I’m gonna talk about something closer to my heart – ‘Night of the Creeps’.

Specifically, the thing going on at Amazon.com, wherein if you buy certain horror movies, you can vote on the cover art for the forthcoming special edition DVD of NotC. A totally rad idea! Except that the cover arts blow. Hard. Here they are:

What, did you take a whole weekend to come up with those? Has anyone involved ever seen the movie? It’s a take on old 50s monster movies. It’s not Scream (I’m looking at you, poster version 3). And none of these are even close to the original art and tagline:

That last one is German, but still! Or why not license the art they used at the Alamo Drafthouse by John Smith:

The mind boggles. Oh well. Maybe for the Blu-ray? Probably not.

I was more than overjoyed when I heard they were FINALLY releasing “Night Of The Creeps” on dvd. (The same with Dark Night Of The Scarecrow!)This has been one of my favourite horror films since i first saw it at a party in 6th grade! It’s just one of those films that…get’s it right! Knows when to be funny and when to be scary. Tom atkins is one of the most underrated actors of our time and he was stellar in this film. Everyone is. The music…the story…and of course all the tounge and cheek horror movie refrences. I will be in my nearest F.Y.E on the 20th of october to buy this! My old VHS tape is completely worn out! LOL! Cant wait to see tom atkings digitally remastered saying: THRILL ME! (Thats how i used to anwser the phone in my teens and early 20′s!) ;)
