Hey everybody -

Go buy Radiohead’s new album ‘In Rainbows’. It’s only available from their site and they’re letting you decide how much you want to pay for it.

So pay something fair. Maybe this kind of thing will help kill off the RIAA, if it proves successful and it doesn’t turn out that we’re all a bunch of criminals.

Just bought it. I have been hearing about it ad nauseum on the BBC, so it’s about time I ordered it. I hope they drown in all the money they make.

I’ve heard of numerous people simply paying nothing, but tons of others are paying what they can afford or what they think it is worth to them. The profit margin on this for Yorke & Co. has got to be quite high as well, whatever they make. And the publicity is stellar and will likely have an effect on concert ticket sales, which is the big money-maker.

I’m saying all of this realizing that Radiohead probably don’t care all that much about the money anyway.

Just as FYI, they’re also apparently going to be releasing a traditional CD of “In Rainbows” in stores in early 2008. Not sure who or how it will be distributed, but I’m sure it will be readily available.

I’m thinking of downloading for cheap, then buying the CD at retail price in Jan. That’s fair, no?

Hey guys. Can someone please tell me how to order it? Everytime I try it says I want the disc box for 4o pounds, which is, ahem, quite a bit more than I want to pay. How do I just download the music files?

Are you clicking on ‘Pre-order’ next to ‘Downloads’? Some people I know had this same problem, and maybe it’s a site problem. But you click on ‘Pre-order’, then go to the cart and fill in how much you want to pay (it’s in pounds, as you may already know) and voila – they’ll send you an email where you can download.

Thanks Craig. I was clicking on the wrong pre-order button. Duh.

Anyone want to send me a copy for free? Isn’t that the point of music on the interweb?

Just as a question: Is it any good? Free or paid, that’s what I’d like to know first. :)

It’s okay. There are three really good songs on it and the others tend to fade into the background. Nothing on it is bad, but you definitely don’t listen to it all the way through. Honestly, now just 9 days after the release, I’m not really listening to it.
