If you somehow missed out on seeing one of the 5 episodes of this early 80s sci-fi new age masterpiece of a show.. well… you can now watch the intro. Just when I thought certain parts of my childhood were lost forever.

Also, check out the intro for Thundarr the Barbarian if you haven’t seen it in a while. Eerilly prescient.

Thundar is a classic! ‘Lords of Light!’ I forget the other saying he had… oh yeah, ‘Devil Dogs!’, which looking back now, I’m surprised all those hyper-sensitive chruchies from back then didn’t get all up in arms about the satanism of Thundar. I remember them castigating the Smurfs for crying out loud.

I know I’m older than you, and I’ve never seen Pheonix. Not once. It’s not even vaguely familiar, like, if I saw it then got raped right afterwards and put that time period out of my life, well, I’d probably still be able to recall it somewhat. But, nothing. Hey, good news, e’rybody! I’ve never been raped!

First of all, Heath, congratulations.

Second, yeah I don’t know how I saw or even remember ‘Phoenix’, but I remember watching this and ‘Manimal’ and something about a kid from space starring Louis Gossett, Jr.

That was the Golden Age of TV, my friends.

Hmmm… all this “boy from outer space” stuff makes me think of one of my favorite childhood books, “The Forgotten Door.” Did you ever read it? Or were you too busy watching creepy television programs? Hee.
